Books Read in a Year

Americans are not reading many books. In 2023 only 15 percent of the population read 15 books or more. Little more than a book a month. I think the more shocking statistic is that only 54 percent of people in the U.S. read 1 or more books in 2023. 46 percent of our population read zero books in a whole year. Hopefully, busy working adults make the majority of this population. Still reading books has proven benefits for your mind and creativity, and we should all be able to find a chunk of time a week to read, after all we watch 141 hours of TV a month of average. If you switched that time to books, you would easily be reading 50+ a year.
